HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL | 8 SIMPLE WAYS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

INTRODUCTION:

The definition of success is different for every person but every person in this world desires to be successful. Most people consider financial independence a success while others consider good grades a success. If you want to be successful you have to be motivated enough to achieve your goals. Motivation is the initial ignition that drives you toward success.

Here, I am going to discuss some simple steps that you are going to follow to be top 1%. Most successful people are those who have discipline in their life. They prioritize their work on everything. It doesn’t mean do not hang out with your friends but if there is a work call, prioritize your work on everything else. Make sure to complete your assignments. Remember, who you are is determined by what you do, not by what you think. So, stop thinking and start doing.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

There is no right or wrong way to be successful it depends on your goals and what works best for you. It is a trial-and-error method to be successful. The earlier you fail, the earlier you will be successful but it is essential to keep going. Your internal desire to be successful is the first and foremost step. You cannot step further if you have no deep desire and get bored halfway.

The next step is to utilize your time for important tasks and stay away from unimportant ones. Keep asking yourself will it be worth what I am doing right now? Nothing is going to happen on its own. You have to push yourself for the first step and then keep going until you achieve it.

8 SIMPLE WAYS TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Do not mistake success for a destination, it is the route that you follow until you become satisfied with what you have. The route to success is not difficult once you start enjoying it. It is all about following some basic tips and being determined. Take small steps until you reach your destination.

Create a list of the goals to set for yourself.

Create a list of goals you want to achieve in your life. Write them in your journal. These goals should be long-term goals that you want to accomplish in your life. How to determine if you have set the right goals? Imagine you have all of the things you have written. Are you satisfied with your life? If yes this is all you have to work on. If not your list needs modifications.

Your goals should be in written form. A study shows that people who tend to write down their goals tend to earn 10x more than people who do not write them. A goal that is written is converted into a target. The term goal seems difficult to achieve but it is easy to hit targets. In this way, you will have proper guidelines if you are working on the right areas or wasting time on unimportant things.

A better strategy is to integrate all your targets into smaller ones.

Categorize them in needs and wants.

Now, that you have a proper list of your goals. It is time to divide your list into categories. Categorize them honestly, as according to it you are going to prioritize your goals. Out of the list mark the goals that are needed in your life and then what you want to do. Your needs and your wants can change according to your goals. List them separately you are going to work only on one of them.

Needs should be those things you cannot live without and your wants are what you desire to get. A person can live without his wants, but needs are necessary to live a peaceful life. Start prioritizing your needs and work on them as they will achieve 90% of your life goals.

Start working on needs.

Things that have fallen under the category of needs should be prioritized and scratch all the things that you put under the needs section. Your main goals have been identified. Let me clear one thing up, the things that you have put under the needs sections are the major distractions in your life. Do not waste your time on your wants instead start utilizing your time on your actual goals.

Your goals need sacrifices and prepare your mind for these sacrifices. Sacrifices and priorities determine your future. Take actions that make you closer to your goals. You can live without your wants but your needs are essential to survive. I am not saying you to eliminate them from your life. Your life goals need your focus and once you achieve them you can go for the rest of the goals and get whatever you want in life.

Set a deadline for your goal.

Congratulations, you have your own list of goals. It’s time to start emphasizing your actual goals. This step is crucial to maintain your speed of achieving goals. If you skip this step you will still achieve your goals but there are chances that you might achieve them in 2x of actual time. Creating deadlines creates a sense of urgency. Parkinson’s Law states that: “If you take 3 days to do something it will take 3 days, if you take 3 hours to do something it will take 3 hours”.

Set a deadline under which you are going to achieve your specific goal. In that way, you will achieve your 5-year goal in minimum time. Also, keep Hofstadter’s Law in mind “it will always take longer than expectancy”. This happens because you underestimate your goals and become lethargic. So, just stick to your goals and never settle for less than what you deserve.

Make a plan to reach your goals.

Once you have set the deadlines, it’s time to make a plan for your goals. Without planning you can easily get off the track and you will not even realize it. The simplest way to create a plan is to start integrating your goals from years to months and months to weeks and, then from weeks to days. This is the best strategy to make a plan for your goals. Your planner should have challenges to force you to do your goals.

Keep a journal for yourself to keep the track of what you have achieved and what is coming. It allows you to stay motivated and helps you to keep moving forward and will tell your priority. Also, write about the habits you want to quit and how you are going to eliminate all the hurdles. In this way, your plan is ready to be executed. Once you create your plan you will be already motivated to start working on it.

Start working on yourself.

Now that you have created your plan it’s time to execute your plans. This is the main step toward your goals. You cannot achieve anything without doing. Remember, you will get what you are working on not what you are thinking about. The first step is difficult to take, go for it as soon as possible. The more you delay the more you will lose interest. Take your first step and then commit to it until you get your desired results. If one way is not working for you do not stop finding other ways as it is all about trial and error

Find a way that works for you and start following it. It is all about your efforts. Start doing it on your own. No one is coming to push you. Stop relying on others and Start working on yourself. Soon you will see your desired results.

Be consistent.

If you are not getting results the way you want them. Do not lose hope and do not stop doing it only because you are not getting results. Everything takes time and it is all about consistency. Consistency brings results. Sometimes your goals require consistency even after you achieve them. When you become consistent, it becomes a habit. Habits make work easier for you as your brain has to work less when something becomes a habit.

The more mistakes you make, the more successful you will be. All you have to do is keep going and you will get surprising results. In some goals, keeping track of short-term goals make it hard to get results. The perfect example is your fitness goals. When you keep noticing every day, you cannot notice any change, and measuring it after 2 weeks can give you the best results.

If you will not get the moon, you will land up on the stars.

Once you will be done with all the steps above described you will be capable of achieving your goals. I can assure you even if not 100% but you can achieve 70% of your goals and you will have clarity about your goals and route to success will become clear to you. Achieving 100 percent of goals is like achieving perfection. Rather than perfection go for excellence. You cannot achieve perfection. Reaching 90% of your goals with satisfaction is a real success. Be consistent and you will achieve excellence. Satisfy your cravings for success but always thirsty for more. Even when you achieve that level of excellence stay consistent to get the most out of your life. Your aim should not be to become successful your aim should be to become better every day. Be 1% better than yesterday. That is all you have to do. Winston Churchill said: “perfection is the enemy of your success.”

Conclusion:

Becoming successful is not difficult. Only you have to be daring enough to take proper steps for yourself. Proper guidance when combines with actionable targets, success becomes achievable. Follow all the steps and you will be successful also be honest with yourself and push yourself to be the person you always want to be.
